The pages of the journal analyze the issues of the effectiveness of regional and municipal government, the political and legal status of the authorities of the constituent entities of the Federation and local self-government, modern models of interaction between federal and regional government bodies, the problem of granting state powers to local government bodies, the democratic nature of regional and local elections and their impact on increasing the legitimacy of the institutions of regional and municipal government. The foreign experience of regional development is investigated. A feature of the journal is the analysis of various aspects of regional and municipal governance based on the paradigms of legal, economic and political science. The journal makes an attempt to scientifically generalize and disseminate the best practices of various subjects of the Russian Federation.

Scientific articles published in the journal are subject to mandatory reviewing.
